MBSR TEACHER TRAINING PATHWAY PROGRAM GRADUATE PROGRAM

10-Week Online MBSR Foundations: October 13 to December 15, 2021

This program is an interactive and rigorous professional online training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).  The successful completion of this 10-Week Online MBSR Foundations Training is recognized and acknowledged by the Mindfulness Center, School of Public Health, at Brown University.   It is one part of “MBSR Teacher Training Level 1”, which is on the training pathway for becoming a recognized MBSR Teacher. 


This online training is facilitated by Dr. Kasim Al-Mashat.  Kasim is a Registered Psychologist in BC and Certified MBSR Teacher and authorized MBSR Trainer through Brown University.

Kasim is the founder of Center For Mindfulness Canada, North Vancouver.  He has  completed a six-month meditation retreat in silence in Southeast Asia and presented a TEDx talk about entitled “How mindfulness meditation redefines pain, happiness & satisfaction”.

MBSR Teacher Advancement Intensive (Online)


This training has 3 modules of three days that are two weeks apar, including:

November 4-6  - Thursday evening, all day Friday and Saturday*

November 18-20  - All day Thursday, Friday and Saturday
December 2-4 - All day Thursday, Friday and Saturday

*Note: All trainings will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7:00 am to 7:15 pm PST, with exception of November 4, which will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm PST.  


The MBSR TAI fulfills the second formal program in the Teacher Training Pathway, which is part of the Teacher Training Level 1 set by the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, and recognized by the Global Mindfulness Collaborative.  


This Online MBSR TAI is organized by the Centre For Mindfulness Canada, in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  The successful completion of this Training is fully recognized and acknowledged by the Mindfulness Center, School of Public Health, at Brown University. It is also recognized by the Global Mindfulness Collaborative.   

Pre-requisites


In order to apply to MBSR TAI, applicants need to have all the following prerequisites: 


  • Successful Completion of the MBSR Foundations formal program (either 10-Week Online Foundations or 9-day Foundations Residential format)

  • Have taught at least three introductory or multi-hour programs based on elements of the MBSR curriculum

  • Attendance in at least two 5-7 day silent, teacher-led, qualifying retreats within the last three years

  • Maintains a regular, daily mindfulness meditation practice

  • Maintains a regular yoga practice.
