Deeper Mindfulness: Exploring Feeling Tone

This newly developed course is for people who have taken a previous mindfulness course, including MindfulnessBSR or MBCT, and want to deepen their practice. Developed by Mark Williams (a co-developer of MBCT) and his colleagues, this course will enable participants to explore an important aspect of mindfulness meditation, feeling tone, that can be a tipping point from one state into another, from calmness to reactivity and vice versa.
Suitable for those with some mindfulness meditation experience who wish to
deepen their practice and to alleviate anxiety, stress, depression, and beginners who wish to learn about and practice an important aspect of mindfulness.
Date: Eight consecutive Mondays, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Location: Online, through Zoom interactive video.
Zoom link will be sent out on registration.
Fees: $350 – includes online manual. Full and partial scholarship available for people on limited income. Occupational Therapist fees are covered by some extended health plans, and may be income tax deductible.

IN PERSON MINDFULNESS BASED COGNITIVE THERAPY (MBCT)

Eight consecutive Monday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, plus a six-hour mini retreat on Saturday, March 9th, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. NO CLASS on Family Day, February 18.
This class will be offered in person at 3263 Heather Street between West 16th and 17th with all the precautions listed below.
In this program, we integrate cognitive behavioral therapy techniques with mindfulness practices. With practice, you will begin to develop a different and more compassionate relationship to negative thoughts, moods, feelings, and body sensations that significantly lowers rumination, anxiety, and depressive relapse.

Payment: There will be an early bird price if payment by Jan 4th, 2024

5-Day Online Mindfulness Meditation Retreat
March 22 to March 27, 2024
March 22nd (4:00 pm to 6:30 pm PST)
March 23rd - 26th (6:30 am to 6:30 pm PST)
March 27 (6:30 am to 9:30 am PST)
This traditional insight mindfulness meditation retreat will offer silent periods of sitting and walking meditation as well times for practice discussions.
The online retreat will be facilitated by Bob Stahl and Kasim Al-Mashat. It is suitable for anyone wishing to deepen their practice and cultivate further understanding of mindfulness meditation. The retreat is open to all levels (beginner to experienced meditators).
Please note: This 5-Day Retreat fulfils the retreat requirement that is part of the MBSR teacher training. Continuing Education will be available.

INDIVIDUAL MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)
Online & In-Person with Brandi Matheson. This program can start at any time.
This program follows the same structure, curriculum and format as a group eight-week MBSR Program in a flexible and more intimate learning environment.
Nine consecutive 90 minute sessions (with exception to the first session which is 60 minutes). Plus one self-retreat between the sixth and seventh session.
