MINDFULNESS BASED COGNITIVE THERAPY (MBCT)

For depressive relapse prevention and managing anxiety

January 13 – March 1st, 2022 *online through Zoom interactive video

Seven consecutive Thursdays, and one Tuesday (March 1) from 6:00 to 8:30pm. Plus a full day retreat on February 12 from 9:30am to 4:00pm.

MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)

With Dr. Kasim Al-Mashat, Umass and Brown University Certified MBSR Teacher and Trainer

January 19th - March 9th, 2022.  *online through Zoom interactive video

Eight consecutive Wednesday evenings, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm (with exception to the first and last sessions which are 3 hours).  Plus, one All-Day retreat on Saturday, February 26 (9:00am to 4:30pm).


Sessions are normally held at our Centre for Mindfulness Canada, #107-3711 Delbrook Ave., North Vancouver (near Highway #1).  However, this program will be held online via Zoom for an interactive live face-to-face format.

January 31 to March 28, 2022 (no class on Family Day, February 21)

Eight Monday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, plus a six-hour mini retreat on Saturday, March 12, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.


This class will be offered in person at Mindful Living, 3263 Heather Street between West 16th and 17th with all the precautions listed below


Covid 19 precautions: everyone must be vaccinated and wear a mask. The room is a spacious 300 ft.² with room to physically distance. It will be ventilated to the outdoors and through a HEPA filter. Class size is limited.

In this program, we integrate cognitive behavioral therapy techniques with mindfulness practices. With practice, you will begin to develop a different and more compassionate relationship to negative thoughts, moods, feelings, and body sensations that significantly lowers rumination, anxiety, and depressive relapse.

Please register early as class size is limited. Registration closes this week, please check availability on our website. Some extended health plans may provide coverage for the services of a Registered Clinical Counsellor, please check with your individual plan. A flexible payment schedule is available and there are two limited subsidies per class.

We had planned to offer this class in person at Mindful Living, 3263 Heather Street between West 16th and 17th with all the precautions listed below. However, if needed, we will switch to offering it through zoom. Please check in with us by January 17.
